Every June, our school takes students on a special trip. This year, our class went to the capital city in the east of Taiwan. We took a bus and arrived at our hotel after two hours. The scene outside the hotel was beautiful. We could see many stores and busy streets below. Everyone felt excited and happy.
Our teacher told us that this city has changed a lot over the past decade. Many people come here to labour and earn a good income. The demand for workers is high in the capital. Our teacher also made a statement: the principle of success is hard work. She said that saving money and building a strong basis of knowledge are both very important.
In the morning, we visited a social agency. The workers there helped people with kindness and respect. A kind worker referred us to a local community association. She told us about the relation between good work and a happy life in the city.
In the afternoon, we watched a blood donation event at a community center. A doctor gave us an analysis of why giving blood is important. He shared his concern that hospitals need more blood every month. We watched people attempt to do something helpful for others. It was a moving and beautiful scene.
On the march back to the bus, we all smiled and talked about the day. We tried to save our money by eating at a small store near the hotel. It was a round trip that we will never forget. The whole class agreed that the trip was a great success.
