Kevin is the class monitor this week. One of his jobs is to give out the workbooks before class. He picks up one and hands it to the girl in the front row. He picks up another and gives it to the boy next to her. The other workbooks go to the students in the back rows.
After class, Kevin's friend Amy brings some cookies to share. She smiles and says, "Here are some for you, Kevin." Their friend Leo looks over and asks, "Are there any left for me?" Amy opens the box again. "Of course! One is for you, Leo, and another is for me." Leo looks inside and sees two more. One has chocolate on top, and the other has strawberry.
At lunch, the three friends talk about their English quiz. Kevin got some answers right, but he missed some, too. Amy says proudly, "I didn't get any wrong!" Kevin smiles and shakes his head. "Next time I will study harder," he says. Amy pats his shoulder. "Don't worry. Another quiz is coming soon. You have another chance to do better."
That afternoon, the class plays a card game. The teacher gives each group some colored cards. One group gets red cards, another gets blue cards, and the other groups get yellow or green. Kevin's group only has some red cards at first. "Do you have any extra cards?" Kevin asks the group next to him. They share a few with a smile, and the game goes on happily until the last bell rings.
