Every year, twenty students at West Junior High School work on a big film project. This year, they want to achieve something truly special. They decide to make a short film about a poor family living in the south of Taiwan. The school administration gives full permission for the project, and everyone on the team is ready to begin.
The story in the film is about a daughter who seeks a better life for her family. Her husband works hard every single day, but the family is still poor. One day, a kind king from a foreign country hears about their problems. He makes a deal with a local organization to help them. A big campaign to support poor families in the south begins soon after.
The school secretary helps the team fill in their application for a big film contest. A firm in the city agrees to support the film production. Security on the set is very important, so only team members can enter. In theory, the whole operation should go smoothly and on time.
However, problems occur during the filming. One student's hair gets caught in the camera, and the team has to stop for about twenty minutes to fix it. Everyone laughs, but they do not give up. In the end, the film wins a big award at the contest. The organization tells them that their story could one day reach a billion people around the world. The students are very happy because they achieve their goal.
