Today is Anna's first day at a new job. She arrives at the office ten minutes early because she wants to make a good start. At the front desk, she tells the receptionist her name. The receptionist smiles and calls Anna's manager.
Her manager, Susan, comes to meet her. Susan shows Anna her desk, the kitchen, and the meeting room. She also gives Anna a small office map and explains the work hours. Anna listens carefully and asks a few simple questions.
After the tour, Susan introduces Anna to the team. Everyone says hello and tells Anna what they do. Her new coworker, Mark, sits next to her and offers to answer questions. Anna feels a little nervous, but the friendly team helps her feel welcome.
In the afternoon, Anna joins her first team meeting. She does not have a big task yet, so she mainly listens. Susan gives her a schedule for the week and asks her to read some company information. Before she goes home, Anna thanks Susan and says she is happy to join the team. She is tired, but she feels ready for tomorrow.
