When it rains outside, many students in Taiwan like to stay at home. The sound of raindrops on the window makes the house feel warm and peaceful. David and his younger sister Amy always feel happy on rainy days because they can spend time at home with their family.
Before they leave school, they check the sky carefully. When it starts to rain, they put on their raincoats and walk home together quickly. After they arrive home, they take off their wet shoes and change into dry clothes. While Amy waits for David to finish, she makes two cups of hot tea for them.
When David finishes his homework at the kitchen table, he goes to the living room to relax. While Amy watches her favorite cartoon on TV, David reads a book quietly on the sofa. Their mother makes hot soup in the kitchen. The delicious smell of the soup fills every corner of the house.
Before dinner is ready, their father comes home from work. The whole family sits down to eat together. While they eat, they talk about their day and share funny stories. After everyone finishes the meal, David and Amy help wash the dishes before they go back to the living room.
After dinner, they play a card game together while their parents read the news. They laugh and play for about an hour before they go to bed. When the rain finally stops at night, they open the window and listen to the last few drops. Rainy days are not boring at all. They are a perfect time to relax and enjoy being together.
