Last Friday, our class went on a school tour to the Northern City Museum. To get there, we crossed a long bridge over the river. From the bus window, we could see the whole city below us. The traffic was quite heavy that morning, so our bus arrived a little late. But we were all very excited. At the entrance, we saw a large sign for a new exhibition about world history.

Inside, the museum had many different categories of displays. One section showed items from Indian and other ancient cultures. Our guide was a kind gentleman named Mr. Chen. He spoke clearly and gave a careful description of each item we stopped to see. In one glass case, there was a flat stone tablet with ancient drawings. Next to it was an old bone tool that people used in the fields long ago. There was also a sheet of paper with some of the earliest writing ever found. Everything looked very cool, and we listened to every word Mr. Chen said.

During one session, Mr. Chen explained how people used fire in the past. They would burn wood to cook food and to stay warm at night. However, fire could also be dangerous. A fire that was not controlled could quickly destroy whole buildings or large forests. Mr. Chen said that learning to use fire in a proper way was one of the most important skills for people in ancient times. Good habits around fire helped protect families and whole communities.

Mr. Chen also talked about the intelligence of people who lived long ago. Even without modern tools, they could combine different materials to build strong and lasting structures. They built wide bridges over rivers to connect villages and towns far apart. There is a clear connection between the skills of the past and the things we use and build today. The existence of these old structures helps us understand just how smart and hardworking people were back then.

Near the exit, there was a small football exhibition. The display showed how the sport has changed over many years. An old football looked almost flat, and its appearance was very different from the round, colorful balls that players use today. It was made from animal skin and had little air inside. We were surprised to learn so much about a sport that many of us love to play.

Before we left, Mr. Chen put his finger on his lip and said with a smile, "Please keep the next exhibit a surprise!" We all laughed. Then he spoke more seriously. He said that history gives us important lessons. The moral of our trip was this: by learning about the past, we can become wiser and better people today. It was a proper ending to a wonderful day at the museum.
