Carlos: Hi there! Are you just checking in, or have you been here for a while?
Nina: I arrived this afternoon. It's my first time in Lisbon, so I'm still getting my bearings.
Carlos: Welcome! I'm Carlos. I'm actually from here. Are you traveling alone?
Nina: Yes, I'm on a solo trip. I'm Nina, by the way. Nice to meet you.
Carlos: Nice to meet you too. So, what brings you to Lisbon?
Nina: I've always wanted to explore southern Europe, and everyone I know kept saying Lisbon was unmissable. How long have you been traveling — I mean, how long have you lived here?
Carlos: Ha, I was born here! But I love hearing from visitors. Where are you from, Nina?
Nina: I'm from Taiwan. I've been traveling for about two weeks — I started in Porto and worked my way down to Lisbon.
Carlos: That's a great route. Have you been to Sintra yet?
Nina: Not yet. Is it worth the trip?
Carlos: Absolutely. You should definitely check out the Pena Palace — it's a bit off the beaten path compared to the main tourist sites, but the views are incredible.
Nina: That sounds amazing. Do you mind if I ask about safety? Is it safe to walk around at night in Lisbon?
Carlos: Generally, yes. The city center is quite safe, but just be aware of your surroundings in crowded areas, especially around Alfama on weekends.
Nina: That's really helpful. I was actually planning to explore Alfama tomorrow morning.
Carlos: Perfect timing then. The streets are much quieter in the morning, and you'll get to experience the neighborhood before the tour groups arrive.
Nina: Great tip! Would you like to grab a coffee tomorrow? I'd love to hear more of your local recommendations.
Carlos: I'd love that. There's a fantastic little café near the Miradouro da Graça — it's a place that only locals seem to know about.
Nina: That sounds perfect. Let's keep in touch. What's your Instagram?
Carlos: It's @carlos_lisbon. Feel free to message me and we can sort out a time.
Nina: Done! It was really nice talking to you, Carlos. I feel a lot more confident about exploring the city now.
Carlos: My pleasure! Enjoy your stay, and I'll see you tomorrow.
