Leo is thirteen years old and loves spending time with his family on weekends. Last Saturday was a very special day for him. He woke up early and put on his favorite blue jeans and a clean white T-shirt. His mother told him not to disturb his little sister, who was still sleeping in the next room. Soon, the morning sun began to shine through the curtains, and everyone was ready to start the day.
They took a taxi to the city center. On the way, Leo spotted a colorful advertisement for a new movie at the cinema. The poster showed a lion chasing a snake across a sandy desert. Leo thought the movie looked very exciting, but his father said they would visit the science museum first. When they arrived, Leo noticed a tall lamp near the entrance, with a thick rope wrapped around its base as decoration.
Inside the museum, Leo walked into a room all about physics. He learned how scientists invent new machines and tools to make life easier. Another section showed the history of the airplane and how the first one was built over a hundred years ago. Leo's favorite part was a magic performance at the end of the hall. The performer could spell out any word using only colored lights and water. The show was so amazing that it did not disturb anyone — it just made the whole crowd laugh and clap.
After visiting the museum, the family felt hungry. They found a small café near a display about the Atlantic Ocean. Leo ordered a beef sandwich, and his younger sister chose a warm slice of apple pie. Their mother bought some strawberry candy for everyone to enjoy after the meal. The chairs in the café were ugly and a little broken, but no one minded at all because the food tasted truly wonderful.
In the afternoon, the family walked to a nearby park. Soon, they found a quiet pond with a small family of ducks swimming near the edge. Leo smiled as he watched the ducks splash and dive in the cool water. Not far from the pond, some children were jumping rope in the sunshine. A young girl sat quietly on a bench and used a brush to paint the peaceful scene around her. As the sky turned golden, a lamp along the path slowly began to shine, lighting the way for evening visitors.
As the sun went down, the family walked past the cinema again. Leo asked his father if they could come back next weekend to see the lion and snake movie. His father smiled and nodded. That evening, Leo wrote in his diary about everything he had seen and learned. He wanted to study physics one day and invent something that could truly help people around the world. It had been one of the most wonderful Saturdays of Leo's life.
