English

Every day, people see thousands of messages, pictures, and videos online. Some of them come from reliable news organizations, schools, or official agencies. Others are written by people whose names and experience are unknown. Because information moves so quickly, it can be difficult to decide what deserves our trust.

A dramatic headline is not always a sign of an important or true story. Some websites use surprising words to make people click, even when the article does not support the headline. A photograph may also be edited, taken many years ago, or used with a completely different event. Looking at one post is not enough to understand the whole situation.

Before believing a claim, readers should check several details. They can look for the writer, the date, and the organization that published the information. They should compare the claim with reports from other trustworthy sources. If a story appears only on one unknown website, it deserves extra attention.

Readers also need to notice their own feelings. False information often makes people very angry, afraid, or excited, because strong emotions encourage quick sharing. Taking a short pause can help us think more clearly. Instead of sharing immediately, we can ask, “What evidence supports this claim?”

Being careful online does not mean refusing to believe anything. It means using reasonable questions before accepting or spreading information. We can trust sources that correct mistakes, show evidence, and explain where their facts come from. By practicing these habits, we protect ourselves and help create a healthier online community.
