Ming usually wakes up at seven o'clock every morning. He eats a quick breakfast, packs his bag, and takes the bus to school. But one Monday morning, everything went wrong. He woke up at seven forty-five because he forgot to set his alarm the night before. He jumped out of bed and got dressed in a hurry because he did not want to be late for class.
Ming ran outside to catch the bus, but it was already gone. He felt very worried because he knew he would miss his first class if he did not get to school soon. He looked around and thought for a moment. Then he decided to run to school because it was his only choice.
Ming ran as fast as he could. It usually takes ten minutes to walk to school, but he knew he could get there in time if he ran hard enough. His legs hurt and he breathed hard, but he did not stop. He kept telling himself, "I will be okay if I keep going."
He arrived at the school gate just one minute before the bell rang. Ming felt very happy because he did not miss his class. His teacher looked at him and smiled. "You look tired, Ming. What happened?" Ming laughed and answered, "I ran all the way here because I almost forgot to wake up!"
That night, Ming set his alarm and also asked his mom to wake him up, just in case. He learned that his day goes much better if he prepares the night before. Because of that one bad morning, he never forgot to set his alarm again.
