Lina joined the customer service team on Monday. She had worked in a small store before, but this was her first office job. During the morning, her team leader, Mark, introduced her to the staff and showed her around the office. He also explained where to find important documents and supplies.
After lunch, Lina received her computer account and learned how to use the customer service system. Mark did not expect her to remember everything on the first day. Instead, he gave her a short guide and asked her to watch an experienced coworker answer customer questions.
Lina took notes while she observed the conversations. She noticed that the coworker listened carefully before giving an answer. When Lina did not understand a step, she asked a clear question instead of pretending to know. Her coworkers were happy to explain the process and share useful advice.
On Tuesday, Mark gave Lina a small group of simple customer requests. He checked her work in the afternoon and praised her careful notes. Lina still had much to learn, but she felt more comfortable because she knew whom to ask for help. By the end of the week, she was ready to handle several requests on her own.
