After two hours of sports day practice, Ming sat down on the grass and could not get up. He was so tired that he could not take another step. His legs felt so heavy that they seemed like stone. He looked at the school building in the distance and thought it was so far away that he might never reach it.
His classmate Amy walked over and handed him a bottle of water. "You worked so hard today that you forgot to rest," she said. Ming took the bottle and drank quickly. He was so thirsty that he finished the whole bottle in less than a minute. "Thank you," he said in a weak voice.
Amy sat beside him. "We had such a tough practice today that everyone looks half-dead," she joked. Ming tried to laugh, but he was so tired that even smiling was hard. They sat quietly and shared the last of the water until they both felt a little better.
After about ten minutes, Ming slowly stood up. He realized that he did not drink enough water during practice. When the body does not get enough water, it becomes so weak that even simple movements feel impossible. He decided to bring a bigger water bottle next time.
By the end of school, Ming could walk again, though still slowly. He told himself that pushing hard in sports is good, but rest is just as important. He planned to go to bed early that night so that he would feel strong and ready again the next morning.
