In my first year of junior high school, I had a hard time with English. I always got low scores on tests, and I felt like giving up. But then I met Mr. Chen, a teacher who never gave up on his students.
Mr. Chen was a kind man who gave extra help to students after class. He noticed that I was struggling, so he encouraged me to keep trying and asked me to stay after school two days a week. He explained everything slowly and always answered my questions with a smile. Because of him, I started to enjoy English little by little.
One day, I failed an important test. I was very upset and wanted to stop trying. Mr. Chen, who always knew what to say, sat down beside me and said, "Every student who works hard will improve. Don't give up now." His words made me feel strong again.
After that, I practiced harder every week. Mr. Chen, who believed in me more than I believed in myself, checked my homework carefully and gave me useful comments. Slowly, my grades started to get better. By the end of the year, I passed the final exam with a high score.
Now I am in ninth grade, and I still remember everything that Mr. Chen taught me. A teacher who truly cares about students can change their lives. I hope that one day, I can be someone who helps others just like Mr. Chen helped me.
